Library Reopening

The Library is now open! We are so happy to welcome you back.

There are going to be many changes to how library visits work; the COVID-19 pandemic is ongoing, and we have to take steps to protect library patrons and members of our staff. Please keep these restrictions in mind when planning to visit the library; hopefully, we will soon be able to move back towards our normal operation.

  1. Hours of operation are limited to: Monday - Thursday: 12-6 pm.

  2. Public restrooms & the library quiet area are currently closed.

  3. To reduce the risk of exposure to the virus, computer access is similarly reduced to 15 minutes per session, with a limit of two sessions per day per person. Please plan your computer use ahead of time; make sure you have passwords, documents, flash drives, etc., prepared and ready to use.

  4. The number of computers has been reduced to better facilitate social distancing. There will be 2 computers available in the adult computer area, and 1 in the youth computer area. The computer in the youth area will be available for adults to use if the if the two adult computers are occupied.

  5. Masks, covering both the nose and mouth, will be required for entry into the library, in accordance with Executive Order 147. If you do not have a mask upon entry, one will be offered to you. Refusal to wear a mask will result in services being denied and you will be asked to leave.

  6. All meetings and events for the month of August have been cancelled.

  7. The library is fine free for the months of August & September. Returns should be placed in the drop slot in the back of the building facing Cleophus Street. Returns will be quarantined for 4 days before being returned. Please note: while you will not be charged overdue fees, the library will charge for any items that have been severely damaged or destroyed.

  8. Staff will be disinfecting areas of high contact at set intervals throughout the day, to try and reduce the likelihood of contamination. Cleaning staff will be performing more thorough cleaning and disinfecting daily.

  9. Curbside service will  still be available for picking up hold requests. To participate, place an item on hold online or by calling the library. Once you have received notification that your hold is available, come to the library during our hours of operation. Once here, call us from your vehicle. We will ask for your name, description of your vehicle and where you are parked, as well as your library card number if available. Staff will then check out your holds and bring them out to you. Please do not come to the library planning to ask for an item that is not already reserved for you; curbside service is only for items waiting to be picked up.

  10. Please do not come to the library if you feel unwell. Patrons exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, such as shortness of breath, coughing, fever, etc., will be asked to leave.

  11. Please maintain social distancing as best you can while in the library.  The floor near the front desk will be marked with appropriate places to stand while waiting for assistance.

Thank you for all of your patience and understanding during a difficult time. I. We hope to provide the best service possible while staying safe! Welcome back!
